Selank

A synthetic heptapeptide analogue of the immunomodulatory peptide tuftsin, studied in Russian clinical trials for anxiety.

What research shows

Two small Russian randomized trials exist: one compared Selank with medazepam in generalized anxiety disorder, and one added Selank to phenazepam in anxiety disorders. Evidence for the proposed GABA-related mechanism comes from animal and cell studies. Long-term human safety and dosing data have not been established in the published trials.
